Ryan has a Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He has experience providing mental health therapy primarily to adults with mental health concerns. Ryan specializes in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. cultivating psychological flexibility in his clients to better adjust to what life throws at them.
Ryan enjoys working with adults with all kinds of struggles. Helping clients strive to accurately identify and treat mental ailments is a passion of Ryan's. Guiding clients towards mental wellness is his goal.
Ryan has experience treating clients at several different levels of care including: Outpatient Counseling, Partial Hospitalization Program, Community Support Programs. His job titles have included: Co-Occurring Disorders Therapist, Counselor, Psychotherapist, Case Management, and now Director. He provides psychotherapy under supervision.
In addition to his favorite modality, which is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. he utilizes Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and other mind-body techniques. He is eager to add other modalities to his practice.
Prior to graduate school, Ryan graduated with a bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology. He was the only senior in his class at UWSP to receive the Distinguished Achievement Award from the Sociology Department. He also was involved as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for over 4 semesters in a Gender and Social Development Laboratory.
